Hey friends! Today kicks off my Patchwork Summer Series with some really wonderful guest posts by some super talented friends. I know you’re going to love what they share with you!
Check out Hadley’s adorable pouch that reminds me of pink lemonade!
Hi there, my name is Hadley. I blog over at flyingblindonarocketcycle, and I am really thrilled to join in with another of Jennifer’s wonderful blog hops.
When I started thinking about Summer Patchwork, my mind immediately jumped forward to all those things that I have to make in the summer, like teacher gifts!
Now there is nothing I like more than little squares of fabric, (OK, big squares of fabric are the obvious exception), but no fuss, straightforward patchwork squares are just so lovely to stitch.
So for this project, inspiration was shouting at me from around the house…
… and fabrics pulled to match…
Svetlana’s simple drawstring bag pattern is brilliant, so why agonise over re-inventing the proverbial wheel, when someone has already perfected the requirements for you!?
I had my trial version sewn up super quick…
Love love love…
Svetlana’s pattern is a real joy to make, and swapping out the solid outer fabric for 40 x 2.5″ squares really is so easy; one of those dinky mini charm packs would really work so well too.
And what about the teachers’ gifts? Well, I have cut the squares, but honestly, you didn’t think I was that organised did you!?
Thanks Hadley for sharing your adorable pouch with us and for the eye-candy inspiration!
