Summer is fast approaching! For those of us in the states, summer starts Memorial Day weekend which is only 3 short weeks away!
For me summer means sunshine, warm temps, trips to the pool, long days, picnics, ice cream, vacations, cook-outs, time with family and friends and this year, moving! We are moving to a new house which is really exciting for our family.
With the new house comes new paint, new carpet and some much needed NEW DECORATING (woo hoo!) all of which has inspired me to finally make the patchwork quilt that has been bouncing around in my head for ages.
By definition, patchwork is simply the act of sewing various colored fabrics and shapes together and making them into quilts, cushions, bags, etc.
Patchwork Quilt Sew-Along
For my quilt, it will be a simple yet classic patchwork where the fabric shines and does all the work. I’m excited about it and would love for you to sew along with me! Starting next week, I’ll be hosting a 5 week sew along where we make a patchwork quilt. Simple, classic, fun and perfect for summer.
Next week we’ll get started with the quilt-along when I share inspirations, tips and ideas for a patchwork quilt.
May 12: Inspiration and Ideas
May 19: Fabric Supplies and Cutting
May 26: Piecing Instructions
June 9: Quilting Options
June 16: Link Up Finished Quilts for prizes
I hope you’ll sew along with me!
It’s a Patchwork Summer!
There will be prizes for those that participate and a chance to link up to win goodies along the way.
And since summer will be busy and hectic with the move, I’ve rounded up some talented friends to share their lovely patchwork projects with you all summer long.
There will be fun prizes too so be sure to stay tuned!
Let’s get ready for a patchwork summer!
