What’s the Sew South buzz?
Check out what Sew South attendees have to say about the retreats:
When asked how they would describe Sew South they said:
BEST THING EVER. Or the closest to Narnia one can get in real life. The feeling of comfort and comradery in the room with all the other ladies who love sewing was great. Learning new things, seeing others work, and just being inspired was fantastic.” Laura Crews, October 2015
A fun-filled weekend for sewists of all levels to gather, create handmade projects, connect with people who share a common thread, and spend quality time together. – Jen Townsend, October 2015
It was by far the most incredible sewing related weekend I have ever experienced. Thank you so much for organizing the event, I am truly grateful. – Lori Hartman, April 2015
When asked what their favorite part of Sew South was they said:
ALL THE THINGS. Have I mentioned I loved it? Really, I think what makes it special is that it’s a really accessible experience for people to come to by themselves, but provides a great opportunity to get to know the other participants. – Kate Nearpass, October 2015
Sew South provides a way for me to have some much needed “me time” to foster my creativity, get inspired and meet great people who end up feeling like family by the end of the weekend. – Patrice Ray April, 2015
Sew South was one of the best gifts I gave to myself! I will treasure the friendships I made and was thrilled to be surrounded by such wonderful, giving, and talented ladies. I hope to come back next year! – Kam Chin April, 2015
Like so many others, I was REALLY looking forward to Sew South being a break from the day-to-day craziness of life. The people, inspiration, and all of the energy and happiness in the room everyday took my mind off of everything. Getting to sew was just a huge bonus. : ) I loved seeing old friends and making new ones…everyone was so friendly and down-to-earth. – Laurel Krynock April, 2015
It’s about social collaboration that helps build and support a thriving community of quilters, sewists, designers and manufacturers. It encourages me to stretch creatively and technically to improve my own sewing. – Miki Jeffers April, 2015
The atmosphere of sharing, encouragement, and inspiration at Sew South was incredible and uplifting. I hope I’m lucky enough to get a ticket next year. – Angie Tackett April, 2015
Sew South is a great experience no matter what type or level of sewer you happen to be. I love attending because I leave with new friends, feel inspired by the members of the sewing/quilting community and am energized to take on new projects. – Joanne Rouch April, 2015
I love being with people who love to create with fabric as much as I do. The friendships I’ve made over the years at this retreat are ones I know will last a lifetime. I always come home tired but energized, my heart full and satisfied. – Valerie Luberecki April, 2015
Sew South was an opportunity to learn new skills and try things I have never done before (like working with interfacing) while being guided by and learning with the best new friends! – Michele Minehart April, 2015
